¹ Fish on trombone.
² Simpsons, Key Change, Tritone Down, and Random Note signals.
³ Trey on acoustic guitar.
⁴ Unfinished.
“TREY: You guys are all standing out there. [unintelligible] Two nights of this stuff. Somewhere in the middle of this long, two night stand, strange things are starting to happen out there in the street. That's right. Some …”
The jam segment of this Melt is the one that appears at the end of Demand on Hoist. The Mockingbird Narration contained a quote of the Winkie Chant ("O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!") from The Wizard of Oz . I Didn't Know featured Fish on trombone and The Horse featured Trey on acoustic guitar. Antelope contained a Divided Sky tease from Trey, an I'm a Man (Spencer Davis Group) tease from Page, and Simpsons, Key Change, Tritone Down, and Random Note signals. Trey teased Fire (Ohio Players) in Possum. Mike's contained a brief Oye Como Va tease. Weekapaug was unfinished. Gumbo contained a Free Bird-style ending.
It’s so stupendous, living in this tube
Bustouts and debuts are Phish.net’s gap on the row. Version rankings and “hot this year” are counted over the shows in THIS archive — not all of history until the backfill finishes — and lengths are phish.in’s timings. Rarities use Phish.net’s all-time play count; long odds are shows played since the song’s debut divided by its plays (see the rarity index on LizardStats).

Straight off the phish.in timings, longest first. What this can’t tell you yet is whether any of these is a big version — that needs each song’s own history to compare against, which is the next thing to pull in. After that: phish.in publishes a jam-start marker per track, so the composed section and the improvisation can be separated and measured properly. That’s what belongs in this tube.
