¹ Fish on trumpet.
This show is often mislabeled as August 19, 1987 and August 19, 1988 but is definitely from 1989. Fish was introduced as Marco Esquandolas before and after Undun as well as after Letter to Jimmy Page. The theme to Barney Miller was teased in the Bowie intro. Undun and the pause after Letter To Jimmy Page featured Fish on trumpet.
It’s so stupendous, living in this tube
Bustouts and debuts are Phish.net’s gap on the row. Version rankings and “hot this year” are counted over the shows in THIS archive — not all of history until the backfill finishes — and lengths are phish.in’s timings. Rarities use Phish.net’s all-time play count; long odds are shows played since the song’s debut divided by its plays (see the rarity index on LizardStats).

Straight off the phish.in timings, longest first. What this can’t tell you yet is whether any of these is a big version — that needs each song’s own history to compare against, which is the next thing to pull in. After that: phish.in publishes a jam-start marker per track, so the composed section and the improvisation can be separated and measured properly. That’s what belongs in this tube.
